ALGERIA: monster 1800 lb basking shark

This basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus ) was caught in a fishing net near Pointe Rouge, about 23 km west of Ténès in Algeria. The specimen measured 5,60 metres in length and about 1800 lb - 830 kg in weight.
