FLORIDA: caught a white shark from the shore

A great white shark of about 10 feet was landed Sunday near Panama City, Florida, and can be the first white shark caught from the beach in the Gulf of Mexico.

Gabriel Smeby and Derrick Keeny were bundled up on an undisclosed beach, doing what they and their "Dark Side Sharkers" crew have been doing for decades between them, shark fishing

After placingthree rods with their bonito tuna  for the night via kayak, about 300 yards from the shoreline of the beach, Gabe, Derrick and the rest of the crew bundled had the luck to have a bite. A young white shark was at the end of the line.

They tagged the shark and, after posing for the accompanying images, released the predator, which they reported on the tag submission to be in great condition.
