US: caught in Florida an huge sawfish shark

Florida angler Todd Vandergaag was beach fishing when he hooked something big; it was a rare huge sawfish.

Vandergaag was night fishing with friends near Venice beach in Florida trying to catch some sharks. He usually catch hammerhead, bull or lemon sharks.

He was using specific shark tackle: a Duel 12/0 reel spooled with 300 lb braid line, finished off with 125 lb mono for his leader.

He  reports that the huge shark fought hard for about fortyfive minutes,

They didn't measured exactly the fish,  wanting to get it back into the ocean as quickly as possible, but estimated to be around 13 feet.
