An huge megamouth shark of around 13 foot or 4.4 meters in length was captured off the fishing port of Yui Shimizu, in Shizuoka City, Japan.
This strange and rare shark is known for a huge mouth and only 53 shark in all world are fished; this is 17th cases in Japan.
The megamouth shark (Megachasma pelagios) is one of the most mysterious and least understood of all the sharks. It was of these sharks was recorded in late 1976 and is so different from other shark lineages that it has been placed in its own family: Megachasmidae.
This huge shark, believed to reach a maximum length of 17-18 feet, resides mostly at great depths, but rises toward the surface at night to feed.
